June 9, 2016, ORIC-PU Signed MoU with Institute of Research Promotion (IRP) for R & D Promotion
University of the Punjab, Office of Research Innovation & Commercialization (ORIC) has signed an MoU with Institute of Research Promotion (IRP) to bridge the gap between industrial, commercial sector and academia. In this regard, and MoU signing ceremony was held on June 9, 2016, Thursday at VC office in which PU Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Mujahid Kamran, Director ORIC Prof. Dr. Aamir Ijaz, Acting Treasurer Mr. Muhammad Sharif Rao, Mr. Abid H. K Shirwani Director ORIC, UMT/ CEO Institute of Research Promotion, Mr. Rehmat Ullah, Dr Shakeel Ahmed and others participated.
Under this MoU, the objective of R&D promotion, training, collaboration and developing enabling environment for academia and industry will be met.
Prof. Dr. Aamir Ijaz said the purpose of this MoU is to promote the culture of academic & research using innovative approach to serve the cause of research and development in the university particularly and for society at large for greater social and economic impact. It is also helpful to organize annual Invention to Innovation Summit.

ORIC MOUs with ENVIRAM Chemicals
LAHORE: (Thursday, December 18, 2014): Punjab University Office of Research Innovation & Commercialization (ORIC) under Business Incubation Centre has signed an MoU with Charted Business and Research Solution to provide new corporate and research training & consultancy services to the corporate employees and general public.
In this regard, an MOU signing ceremony was held at VC office in which PU Vice Chancellor Porf Dr Mujahid Kamran, Director ORIC Prof Dr Aamir Ijaz, Acting Treasurer Rao Sharif, Director External Linkages Dr Maria Isabel Maldonado and others participated. Dr Aamir said that the purpose of the company was to enable both contracting parties as PU ORIC and the company to work jointly for the development of corporate and research training programs. It will also increase university- industry linkages, he added.

LAHORE: (Monday, September 15, 2014): Under the Office of Research Innovation and Commercialization (ORIC), Punjab University has launched Business Incubation Centre, the first-ever company the name of ENVIRAM. In this regard, a MoU ceremony was held at VC office.
PU Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Mujahid Kamran, Director ORIC Prof. Dr. Aamir Ijaz, Treasure Rao Sharif and others were also present on the occasion. Dr. Aamir Ijaz said that the research will be carried out and environment friendly products will be developed related to Fast Moving Consumer Goods including pre-heated textile detergents auxiliaries. He said that basic purpose is to introduce products which are bio-degradable and non-carcinogenic for the benefit of university academia and industry linkages.
PU, Plan9 sign MoU for entrepreneurship growth

Punjab University Institute of Business Administration and Plan9-PITB’s Technology Incubator have signed a memorandum of understanding for promotion of entrepreneurial skills among the youth. In this regard, an MoU signing ceremony was held at committee room of Vice Chancellor’s office here on Tuesday. Punjab University Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Zaffar Mueen Nasir, PU Registrar Dr Muhammad Khalid Khan, Director Entrepreneurship and Enterprise Development Nabeel A Qadeer, PU IBA Incharge Sajida Nisar and other officials were present on the occasion.

The memorandum calls for organizing different capacity-building training programmes for students and develop their interaction with the institutions and commercial world. Addressing the meeting, Dr Zaffar Mueen Nasir said that the initiative would move PU efforts to inculcate entrepreneurial spirit among its students one step ahead. He said that the MoU would also promote cohesion between the industry and academia. Mr Nabeel A. Qadeer said that the MoU signified the intention of Plan9 and PU IBA to forge strong mutual ties between industry and academia for the progress of the two sectors.

He said that Plan9 aimed at replicating its model of business incubation that was considered credible globally to guide our partner in establishing their business incubation centre. Ms Sajida Nisar said that Plan9 would provide access to its network of trainers, mentors and investors to incubatees of IBA, She said that workshops, trainings and mentoring sessions would be arranged at the premises of IBA where startups would be invited to interact with the Plan9 mentors. She said that an exchange program would be initiated whereby a startup nominated by IBA would be offered an incubation spot at Plan9 every cycle, subject to an interview with the Plan9 management.
